Ayyankali


Ayyankali (1863-1941) was a social reformer and pioneer in the Dalit movement from Kerala who fought for the rights of the marginalized and oppressed, especially the Pulaya community. He advocated for education for Dalit children, breaking caste barriers and challenging the traditional norms that denied them access to schools. Ayyankali's efforts led to significant social change, paving the way for future generations.

His legacy continues to inspire Dalit empowerment in Kerala, and his work remains a testament to the power of social activism. Ayyankali's fight for dignity and self-respect helped shape Kerala's progressive social landscape.
